WE MAKE HOMES FOR THE FORMERLY HOMELESS
Message from our founder and president, Kendra Morales
November 2020
Everyone deserves a bed. A couch or chair for relaxing. A table for a home-cooked meal. These simple things help transform a house into a home, making a real difference for someone starting a new life.
"Making it home" for over 1,400 families in central Connecticut
Our mission is to restore dignity and independence to people struggling with homelessness, poverty, and other severe life challenges by providing them with the furniture and basic household goods they need to make their house into a home.
HOW WE HELP
Every year, thousands of people in Connecticut move out of homeless shelters, away from violent or unsafe environments, or off the streets. They've taken the first step to turn their life around, and For Goodness Sake is here to help with the next step. We take furniture donations from the community and distribute them to clients screened and referred to us by our local social service agency partners.
DONATE FURNITURE
Your gently used furniture or household goods could change a life. Check the Donations page to request a pickup online, find our drop off hours and location, and see what items we can take.
VOLUNTEER
Do you want to make a difference for people right here in our community? We work hard and have a lot of fun, and there are many different ways to help. Volunteers are needed every Saturday and Sunday. Come join us!
